Spironolactone/Aldactone

Spironolactone works as an androgen receptor antagonist. This oral medication is used for androgenic hair loss and helps reduce androgens (masculinizing hormones) that can contribute to hair thinness. 

It can take up to six months to see improvements in hair density and decrease in shedding. 

Side effects may include breast tenderness, fatigue, and menstrual irregularities, headaches, and constipation.
