  • How does a FUE Hair Transplant procedure work?

The FUE Hair Transplant begins with each hair follicle from the donor area being extracted. A micro-punch tool is used to make small incisions around the follicles. After the follicles are extracted, each one is carefully examined and prepared for transplantation. Then the recipient area receives small incisions, where the individual follicles are implanted. Once the surgery is complete, patients are given post care procedure instructions.

  • What is ARTAS Hair Transplant?

The ARTAS system is robotic- assisted hair transplant technology that improves the precision and efficiency of Follicular Unit Extraction or FUE. Advanced algorithms are used to find, locate and extract individual hair follicles from the donor area. The technology was created to ensure minimal damage to the surrounding follicles. ARTAS’s robotic arm assists with creating recipient area and implanting grafts in the areas that are needed.

  • How will my hair look after a Hair Transplant?

Right after your hair transplant, visible redness and scabs may appear. Hairs that have been transplanted may also shed. In 1-3 months, new growth of the hair has yet to start and shedding may take place, which will make the transplanted area look thin. After 3-6 months, you will experience signs of new hair growth. The texture of your hair will be fine and soft. When the 6-9 month phase appears, your hair will become thicker and appear more natural. The hairline will take shape and gaps will begin to fill in. Finally, after 9-12 months pass, your final results become evident. You will have full density, volume and length, which will make your hair look natural.

  • Will I experience any pain with the Hair Transplant procedure?

Patient’s will be administered with local anesthetic, to dissipate any pain. Most patients report feeling minimal pain during the entire procedure.

  • What are the risks and side effects of a FUE hair transplant?

Typically, a FUE transplant is safe. However, with any surgical procedure, potential risks and side effects may occur. This includes redness, swelling, mild discomfort, and temporary scabbing in the recipient and donor region. In rare occasions, patient may experience prolonged healing, slight changes in the texture of their skin, and an infection. It’s important to follow post-procedure care instructions to reduce these risk and ensure a smooth recovery.

  • Who is a good candidate for a FUE hair transplant?

Ideal candidates for a FUE hair transplant are experiencing hair thinning and loss, while still having healthy hair follicles in the donor area and overall have good health. FUE is suitable for both men and women and is an effective treatment to combat various forms of hair loss.

  • Does FUE hair transplant leave any scars on the scalp?

FUE hair transplant involves extracting individual hair follicles, which can leave small dot-like scars on the scalp. However, these scars are unnoticeable, even with short hair styles. Overtime, these small scars fade and blend with the surrounding skin. This hair transplant procedure is known to be minimally invasive and leave no visible linear scars.

  • What are the benefits of a FUE hair transplant vs. other traditional methods?

Compared to other traditional methods, FUE is minimally invasive, which means no large incisions or stitches are needed. This results in faster healing and less discomfort. FUE provides minimal scarring, which makes it ideal for patients who prefer shorter hair styles.
